When I received an invitation to the Grand Opening of Books and Borders in Tuscany, I was delighted to know that they are opening a new branch. My mom who is working as a government employee in Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City is very near at McKinley Hill. Somehow, Tuscany is familiar for me.
Book and Borders is located in RC-RCM and RD-RDM Building 5, Tuscany Estates, McKinley Hill, Bonifacio, Global City. I find the place cozy and chic, it has a second floor coffee shop that will surely be a favorite hangout of group of friends and families.
Book and Borders,Tomas Morato just opened last year of August and has become one of the Metro's favorite hangout. While other coffee shops and cafes are now in a dime a dozen, Book and Borders put itself in a class of its own, distinguishing itself as a place for people who wants to enjoy a more relaxed day, sipping your favorite brew and immersed with your favorite books.
Just like in their first branch, the newly-opened Book and Borders in Tuscany offers an extensive selections of books, from the classics to contemporary bestsellers. Even kids are free to enjoy children's book and some board games like snake and ladder.
“What I love about Book & Borders is that there’s always something new to discover because they constantly update their library. So even if you just want to browse, all the recent best sellers are on the shelves,” shares Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari-Yuzon, a self-proclaimed bookworm and travel books collector.
“I’m so ecstatic that there’s finally a place for people like us. It’s cozy and inviting, and you won’t get too distracted like in crowded cafes. ‘Books + coffee’ spells the perfect afternoon,” shares Kapuso artist and budding poet Benjamin Alves.

For that special afternoon, I had Tuna Apple with Gratinated Cheese Sauce in Ciabbata bread... The tuna was sauteed with garlic and onions and has a delicious cheese sauce that was very satisfying. The dressing is made from mayonnaise, garlic and onions complemented by fresh apple slivers, lettuce and tomatoes, simple yet delicious sandwich.
The menu also offers rice dishes, pastas, different varieties of cakes and of course their famous brewed coffee and cold coffee concoctions and refreshing smoothies, calming tees and juices.
Tamarind Lemongrass Chicken..... Grilled chicken leg quarter marinated in tamarind and lemon grass sauce, and served with sauce. |
